Out of the mouths ......

You never know what a kid is thinking until they open their mouth ........
Just this morning a first grader saw me pull onto the school property and told his mom " I didn't      know our principal had a car."

Today during the assembly, the student advisor made the announcement that students could color their hair black or white for the upcoming spirit day. A question immediately followed asking if they could color it silver,to which came a great response "only if your silver is black or white.

First Blog

As I welcome myself to the world of blogging, I'm sitting with my grandchildren watching Robin Williams play Peter Pan in "Hook". We are at the part where Peter scoops up something from what appears to be an empty bowl and flings it at Ruffio. When it hits him in the face, it turns to bright blue, red, and yellow slim, and the children cry out that Peter has found his imagination, and a full blown food fight begins in beautiful technicolor.

As a mother, grandmother and school principal I hope that blogging will help me share from the imaginations of youngsters I find in both in my personal and professional life. In my younger days I loved to write poetry, stories and use the experiences of motherhood to convey my amusement with kids and life in general. Over the past number of years I haven't taken the time to write creatively since most of my writing has been for educational or Bible Study purposes. Most recently, I have been inspired by the blog my daughter April has been writing. She is a gifted and talented writer that shares the laughter of life in her blog, Laughing Out Loud. She has been gracious enough to help me set up this blog while I am visiting her from California.
